The Donnie Yen Chi Tan starred IP MAN film series has always been a hit. Producer Raymond Wong Pak Ming, director Wilson Yip Wai Shun and Yen Chi Tan have been together for what seemed like forever. Two nights ago the film company held a IP MAN 4 appreciation banquet to thank the workers for over four months of production in Shanghai and England. Chi Tan sentimentally said, "It is very rare for a movie to reach a fourth installment. Looking back at the first film, some not only did not look upon it favorably bu also asked me why I would make IP MAN. I am very happy to see the success of the film and the character today, and the recognition of the audience."

IP MAN 4 aside from the golden team of producer Wong Pak Ming, director Yip Wai Shun and lead actor Yen Chi Tan also had the third installment's action director Yuen Woo Ping. The film earlier shot in Shanghai and England for four months. Two nights ago at the banquet was not only Wong Pak Ming, Yip Wai Shun and Yen Chi Tan, but also Mandarin film boss and IP MAN 4 executive producer Edmond Wong Chi Wun, Mainland investor Bona boss Yu Dong, actors Pierre Ngo Ka Nin and Chris Collins. ..... The Fala Chen directed and starred short film PASSINGER (YUN LOI YUN WONG) was about the contact between a homeless person and a young person. It was selected as one of the 9 finalists for the Sundance Film Festival: Hong Kong Short Film Competition. The selecton conceivably would be a great recognition for Fala Chen, who has been studying drama overseas in recent years. For her first film, Fala not only neglected her looks but also jumped off an overpass.

This short film was Fala getting her feet wet. She sad that the script was written outside her school time. "Last year after the screenwriting class I wanted to use what I learned. So I started to write this script." PASSINGER was shot on location in Hong Kong and France. The Hong Kong shoot was the smoothest. Fala admitted, "Due to the limited budget, a lot of the production relied on friends and classmates' help. They included 'Old Man' Law Lok Lam and junior Ng Siu Hin's guest performance. 'Old Man' even cursed nonstop aloud for the first time for my movie. It was a breakthrough performance for him, so I really appreciated their contribution."

Speaking of the production, the most memorable for her was in order to play a homeless person ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)

Chow Yun Fat, Liu Kai Chi, director Felix Chong Man Keung yesterday attended the new film PROJECT GUTENBERG (MO SEUNG)'s forum as they shared their production experience with almost 1,000 university students. In response to a student's question of how to make himself into a protagonist in life with fame and fortune like him, Fat Gor first suggested for him to knock on the door of TVB for a job or work part time as a night time security guard. When he would have money then he could chase his dream and find a stage that belongs to him to be the lead.

In the film Fat Gor played a fictional character. He admitted that being an actor has its happy part. "As an actor you can die many times but you don't have to die, film can make fake into real. In the end the audience is pleased. Although when I widen my eyes I would want to kill, actually I am very easy going. I am just making a living."

Director Chong Man Keung revealed that Fat Gor's character was based on classic films like A BETTER TOMORROW, THE KILLER, GOD OF GAMBLERS and THE DIARY OF A BIG MAN because he has been a Fat Gor fan since childhood. Fa Gor also occupied television and the big screen for ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)

Francis Ng Chun Yu yesterday appeared on a ViuTV program. Speaking of his film MEN ON THE DRAGON (YIK LAU DAI SHOOK)'s box office and word of mouth success, Chun Yu humbly said that it could be better and it could be worse. The biggest gain was many more interview opportunities.

The director Sunny Chan Wing Sun would like to work with the original team on another subject. Chun Yu said, "I haven't heard, but I have said to the director tha this story could not be continued. Some people would bomb and still shamelessly make a sequel. Now since we have luck with the audience, we can make another subject. Everything will have to wait until the director is done with the script."

Chun Yu will soon make two movies. Earlier during the summer vacation he spent time with his son Feynman. "I wen to music class with my son. My wife took him to learn karate in hopes that our son would be even more down to earth. Originally it was one one one, later with government involvement it became a group class. I hope his interest would be raised. After karate I would take him for ice cream. He might be doing it for ice cream. Actually sportsmanship is very important, it improves the quality of people. Ice cream is only a reward, but personal quality has to be cultivated in order for it to grow."

Although this was not a remake of YOUNG AND DANGEROUS, five orphans turned on each other during a treasure hunt and had to choose between brotherhood and justice.

Ekin said that everything started with their concert preparation, when they got together and made the dream come true. For their next dream Ka Lok suggested that if he would direct a movie again they would reform. Ka Lok said that everyone would get together and chat. They did not expect that when they dipped their toes into the water with the concert the audience would still have feelings for the five of them. Then in 2015 Chi Wai said that there was a good script, from there on it took three years. Ka Lok said, "The first one wasn't this story now. It was an action comedy. We didn't want to make YOUNG AND DANGEROUS again and we all had an understanding. We are grown adults and YOUNG AND DANGEROUS was already the best. We also didn't want to go to the old well. So we used an all new story to display the elevation of 20 years of brotherhood. I might ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)
