The Herman Yau Lai To directed, Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Francis Ng Chun Yu, Charmaine Sheh Sze Man and Timmy Hung Tin Ming starred film DEATH NOTIFY (SEI MONG TUNG JI DAN UM HAK JEH: SAU BO KUK SEUNG HUNG WUI) recently has been shooting at Admiralty. The shoot had almost 100 extras. The temperature has lingered above 30 degrees Celsius, everyone had to work in the sun. Several extras two days ago reportedly fainted during the shoot.

According to a social platform recount of a supposed extra, two days ago around noon he felt a light summer stroke and went to the shade to rest. He did not take to the set even after the shoot ended. During the shoot some appeared to suffer heat stroke, as they foamed at the mouths and fainted. The team halted production right away and did not resume production until the extra was sent to a hospital. The post also complained about the director not giving enough time to rest and having to wear long sleeve clothing to shoot in the sun for hours.

The film company China 3D Digital Entertainment replied, "Yesterday indeed several workers didn't feel well due to the heat. They suffered minor heat stroke but after resting they were fine." Reportedly several extras ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)

Japanese animation master Isao Takahata last month passed away from lung cancer at age 82. His friend and colleauge of over half a century Hayao Miyazaki was too broken hearted to attend the funeral. Yesterday at the Ghibli Museum farewell event, the 77 year old Hayao Miyazaki finally appared as the farewell committee president and gave an eulogy. "I would never forget, when I first met you in 1963 at the sunset after the rain." He also remembered their days of working together. "I always thought that he could live to 95, but in the end he left before I did. Seemingly my days are numbered as well." He could no longer hold back his tears.

Composer Joe Hisashi also attended the farewell event. He was grateful to have met Isao Takahata. He recalled when he was invited to score NAUSICAA OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, he was a relatively unknown kid. "Without Isao Takahata, there would be no Joe Hisashi." They kept working together and creating many classic scores, including Isao Takahata's final film THE TALE OF THE PRINCESS KAGUYA. "It was my honor to be able to score for this animation."

Aside from his Studio Ghibli colleagues like Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki, Isao Takahata's friends in the business like director Yoji Yamada, Mamoru ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)

The film WHEN SUN MEETS MOON (MAU YUT MAU YUET)'s advanced screenings had overwhelming responses, almost all shows on Mother's Day were sold out. Director Benny Lau Wai Heng and lead actress Kathy Yuen (Tong Yi) were glad to receive a shot of confidence at an audience appreciation event when they realized that Michael Tong Man Lung took time to watch the film! The ailing Michael gave a big thumbs up. "It's great! The movie is a rare school romance, very simple, very human, at the same time it reflected a contrast between then and now. Everything in the 80's and the 90's were very hard to attain, so we would be determined. Now information technology is developed, everything instead becomes the norm. The film is about emotions that are hard for young people to believe. It's a must see!"

Playing Ms. Lo in the film, Aimee Chan Yan Mei also was touched by this determination. Thus soon after giving birth to her third child she decided to make this film. Aimee said, "I have always had the acting bug, the director asked to meet me to discuss the script. He was very passionate. I really like Ms. Lo's determination to pursue romance. The director's previous film WONG KA YAN also had this flavor, as long as it meets my children's schedules I definitely would take the role. I deliberately booked my flight .....
