Ling Man Lung, Leila Tong Ning and director Chan Tai Li two nights ago attended the film TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY (WONG GUM FA)'s charity screening. Ling Man Lung with his autistic character received his first Hong Kong Film Award nominations for Best Actor and Best New Performer. He felt excited and surprised but he still has not begun to be nervous yet.

Playing his mother in the film, Teresa Mo Shun Kwan said that Man Lung was her favorite to win Best New Performer but not his time for Best Actor yet. Man Lung admitted that he never thought about that and thanked Mo Shun Kwan for her continuing support. As for the strong competition, he said that he was surprised already with the nominations. Thus he planned to dress up and attend with his family, as he would properly enjoy this big party. Man Lung said that now he has some film offers but has not thought about a raise yet.

Tong Ning has enjoyed Man Lung's performance and admitted that she was deeply touched. She also supported his bid for an award because this time the script was great. His performance was also very meaningful. Did she find the movie more relatable as a mother? Tong Ning said, "Definitely, I believe many mothers would understand. I really hope that everyone would understand that autistic children only learn a little slower, they aren't completely ignorant."

Cherry Ngan Cheuk Ling and Peter Kam Pui Tat yesterday promoted their new song NO ONE IS AN ISLAND, the Cantonese version of the film CONCERTO OF THE BULLY (DAI LOK SI WAI OI PUI LOK)'s Ronald Cheng Chung Kei song. Ngan Cheuk Ling said that in the film Cheng Chung Kei was bipolar. The song was about people would always have ups and downs but someone would always be by their side, no one was alone.

Ngan Cheuk Ling said that she originally wanted to write the lyrics for the new song but because she was not pleased with her work and due to the tight schedule she asked THE WAY WE DANCE (KONG MO PAI)'s director and lyricist Adam Wong Sau Ping. In the end halfway through the recording the lyrics already moved her to tears. Speaking of despite the good word of mouth CONCERTO OF BULLY did not have many shows, Ngan Cheuk Ling asked everyone to support it at the movies. "Because the opening week box office was iffy, I directly suggested to the director that we need to do something. If the marketing budget was limited, I wouldn't mind doing my own make up and hair and taking the MTR to audience appreciation events. I don't want to waste the efforts of the cast and the crew."

Due to the box office emergency, Ngan Cheuk Ling took time off from her series production in Malaysia to return to Hong Kong and even stared at the box office sales daily like it was the stock market. "Earlier we were only left ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)

Wang Baoqiang, Liu Haoran, Kenneth Tsang Kong, Yuen Wah and Satoshi Tsumabuki starred in DETECTIVE CHINATOWN 2, which had a global box office of over HK$ 4 billion. Two nights ago the film held a "celebrity and friends advance screening" in Hong Kong. Tsang Kong and Yuen Wah showed their support.

Brother Ken in the film played a New York Chinatown "Godfather" while Yuen Wah ran a kung fu school and was Wang Baoqiang's master. Brother Wa said that he had a school in the film but he did not have many fight scenes. After a few punches he would leave the fight to his students. Brother Ken said, "I was even more comfortable, I only performed in a wheel chair. Instead the most difficult was the flight and the time difference. Originally it was a direct flight to New York, but halfway the plane ran out of water and needed repairs. It had to stop in Tokyo and San Francisco, arriving over ten hours later than expected in New York." Would they like to work together again? Brother Ken said, "I am always making movies. In this business actors of any age are needed. I will play as ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)

New film BODIES AT REST (CHUM MUK DIK JING YUN) starred multiple Best Actor award winners Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) battled in the film from the beginning to the end, brains and brawn. With action galore, a bloody fatal combat took place in the morgue. Yesterday the 30 second conceptual teaser was released, from the beginning to the end it had a suffocating atmosphere of tension as a fatal race against time began. The intense music paired with the exciting gun fight scenes as Ka Fai finally said, "The game, it just started." The countdown clock effect elevated the tense atmosphere and informed the audience that they would have no much time left as a life and death journey was about to begin.

In the still, Cheung Ka Fai looked serious and intelligent as he prepared to battle brawn and brains with the mysterious robber. Siu Chai looked dark and even scarier than he did in TRIVISA (SHU DAI CHIU FUNG). What secret did the morgue hide? Ka Fai said that this time he had to play an attentive forensics doctor, which gave him even more understanding of the profession during the shoot. Siu Chai's character was very mysterious, which not only made people curious but he also could not reveal too much at this stage.

Louis Koo Tin Lok is busy with the Performing Artists Guild and his movies. He has been absent from the stage and almost had no chance to see him with a microphone again. People of a certain age might remember that Goo Jai once was a singer. His POPULAR THIS WEEK was quite a "MK hit". In addition he also had the loving BOYFRIEND.

Two nights ago at the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers spring banquet, the Guild president Goo Jai of course attended in person to show his support. No one expected that he would perform BOYFRIEND again at this event. Guest performers originally were J.Arie, Terence Siufay, Rubberband and 24 Herbs. Goo Jai was then invited to the stage. He thought that he only had to say a few words but everyone suddenly put a stop to J.Arie's performance of THE MOON REPRESENTS MY HEART and played the music of BOYFRIEND by force! Stunned, Goo Jai looked awkward but since everyone was having so much fun he sang a few verses of BOYFRIEND with everyone.

Capturing the entire process, Jonathan Wong Chee Hynn posted the video on Instagram and posted "So many memories!", "Truly a wonderful moment! Thank you Goo Jai for your participation". Some online also said, "This song was everyone's shared memory, it can't lose." Would Goo ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)

Jeana Ho Pui Yu in the film JOK GA DIK FONG YIN (LIE OF A WRITER) played Justin Cheung Kin Sing's wife. She revealed that the role would be a housewife with a child. "The character isn't pretty, she always looks worn out and has to be a little plumper. Later I keep eating carbohydrates, gaining over 10 pounds isn't hard. Now I am eating like three days worth of food in a day. I would give myself a limit. Two weeks after the shoot I would have to slim down again."

Lead actor Cheung Kin Sing was a first time producer as well. In the film he had romantic scenes with both Linah Matsuoka and Ho Pui Yu. Cheung Kin Sing said, "Seeing how Jeana gains weight for this film, my heart breaks when I see her with two orders of roast pork and chicken with rice every meal."

Jacqueline Wong does not celebrate Chinese Valentine's Day; She laments Tony Hung is besides her?

Sunday March 11, 2018 Hong Kong

Tony Hung (洪永城) and Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎) were filming Maids' Alliance (丫鬟大聯盟) series at the ancient street in TV City during Lantern Festival on 02 March. It was a coincidence that they were shooting the lantern festival scene and Tony described it as having rendezvous. Jacqueline said: "Nah. The master falls in love with the maid and it is a pure underground relationship." Tony said: "I am not a master but talented man. Didn't you read the script?"

Jacqueline realised the Lantern Festival was defined as Chinese Valentine's Day and remarked there was too many Valentine's Day yearly. When asked if she lamented that the person besides her was not Kenneth Ma (馬國明), she laughed and said: "Nope. We are working and I do not have the habit of celebrating Lantern Festival."
