HTC has announced that the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system is on its way to HTC One M8 smartphones in Europe.
The news was confirmed on Twitter by the firm's communications chief Jeff Gordon, who advised users to check their software updates.
HTC is on course to fulfil its promise of delivering Android 5.0 within 90 days of receiving the source code from Google, having obtained it in early November.
Reports suggest that users in France and Germany have already received the update, with the UK expected to be one of the next countries in line.
The update weighs in at 584MB and brings the latest Google operating system, along with a refreshed user interface and a handful of other new features.
Headline features of Android Lollipop include greater control over notifications, support for 64-bit hardware and increased battery life.
