Facebook has denied claims that its recent outage was the result of a cyber attack.
The social network was inaccessible for around an hour this morning (January 27), with the infamous Lizard Squad claiming responsibility for the disruption.
Facebook-owned Instagram also suffered downtime, along with Tinder, AIM, Hipchat and Myspace, but the company insists that its outage was not the work of hackers.
"This was not the result of a third party attack but instead occurred after we introduced a change that affected our configuration systems," said Facebook in a statement.
"We moved quickly to fix the problem, and both [Facebook and Instagram] are back to 100% for everyone."
All services are now thought to be completely restored.
Earlier this month, a man from the UK was arrested in connection with the Lizard Squad hacks that took down PlayStation Network and Xbox Live over Christmas.
