Isabella Leong may make a showbiz comeback next month after spending five years away from the entertainment scene.
Hong Kong director Fruit Chan had recently announced plans to produce a new science fiction movie, adapted from Hong Kong's popular online novel Lost on a Red Minibus to Taipo.
Slated to begin filming early next month, he mentioned, "No one is better suited to portray as Yuki [female lead in the novel] than Isabella. The executive producer has already contacted her and we're still awaiting her reply."
The former actress dated Hong Kong billionaire Richard Li and quit showbiz for love in 2008. She gave birth to their first son in the same year and a pair of twin sons in June 2010.
The 24-year-old, who resides in Canada, has been taking care of her three sons since announcing her split with Richard in March 2011.
Acting has always been Isabella's passion and she has reportedly hoped to return to showbiz again "if there is a good script." Many movie companies have also approached her throughout the years and they are looking forward to her comeback.

If acting was her passion why did she quit. Right, for $$$$
Not that I know the full story but here is what I understand/heard anyway...
Her mother signed her up with EEG when she was just 12 for substantially long period of time and unfavorable terms. You can also imagine what you have to do behind the scenes as a EEG artist.
In Isabella's previous situation, she would probably have to 'socialise' with rich businessmen anyway as an EEG artist and there wasn't a way out of it for her since she was signed up with EEG and the contract doesn't expire until she is past her prime time. Plus with the background of the EEG bosses, she could hardly get out of her situation after she was old and popular enough to realize she was stuck.
Richard Li was probably one of the few men in HK who could have helped her out of her situation because he had both the money and connections.
Yes, perhaps money was a factor but I think its a smart move for Isabella regardless.
On the side note: Big welcome back if that's the case!!! I really liked her in movies and she was impressive in The Mummy 3.

It is such a shame that she went that route. She had sooo much potential to become a big star and the nshe just married that dude. but oh well at least she's financially secured but one wonders about what might have been..even though she's coming back it won't be the same as before..yes there's plenty of time to improve and she can still become a bigger star than before but I think she won't reach her full potential...it's a shame when such talents choose the wrong path

Surprised that her 3 sons are not going with the Dad since he is rich... can easily get nanny to look after them! Only 24 and already a mother of 3...wow..... What a sacrfice for $$$$.
Double-edged sword. Some people are just born without that much say in the way life maps out for them. Isabella is one of those ... her life from a young age was also signed to EEG.
At least she can count her blessings she's good looking, and was actually spotted, singled out.
(I know a very good looker, who ended up being a refugee because she hitched up young with an abusive drummer .. which indirectly meant her life ended up diffrently depsite being good looking).
And actually of all the gold-diggers out there ...I see Isabella as much LESS of a gold digger than say some of the known society 'tai-tais', ex beauty queens and TVB starlets.
Those people had choices, and chose money above everything else. Isabella didn't.
Isabella was in some longterm contract to EEG - signed since she was 15? or something by her mother. Very young ... too young to have any say over her life or the decisions made on her behalf anyway.
So what's really so different about 'buying' her freedom early from EEG and getting pampered by Richard Lee instead? Much lesser of 2 evils, imo.
Last heard, she doesn't get all that much personally from the Lees ... but at least the grandsons are well provided for. Like she probably doesn't have to worry about childcare, babysitting or scrounge around for money to feed and dress her kids well, or private-school fees for a solid education out of her own pocket or in general worrying about nitty-gritty stuff like that.
And at least being associated as mother to that line of LEE lineage ensures she's not too exploited (ie the world can see what's happening, and it will reflect on the Lees if they don't treat her well, and she doesn't have to be 'farmed out' to other men).
She's wise to return to work. Healthier to have other identities and achivements outside of 'Mom - Lee mommy or otherwise' to call her own, and to keep her options open..
