I just saw the cast list of the new series, it seems like Priscilla Wong and Louise Lee are indeed the female leads.

Ruco said at weibo that he will appear from episode 16 in Three Kingdoms RPG.

No clue who's Priscilla Wong but the cast sounds weak and sounds like another low budget series. Posted Image Hope the storyline will be interesting.

More info on weibo from Kuangai. I'm a bit worried about Priscilla's (apparently she was a news anchor from another station) performance but if it is based on her real life personality it should be a bit easier to get into character. I don't really understand why the producer refused her idea to take acting lessons before starting? Is the producer worried that her acting will be too methodical/ stiff? Wouldn't it be better to at least hear how they do it before you jump right in... at least get another perspective on the subject. Even though with acting classes doesn't make you a better actor over night but at least she seems keen on trying to do a good job at her first time at acting and actually considered taking classes.

I wonder what they mean by triangle motherly love between Louise Lee, Rebecca Chan and Ruco. I suppose one of them is his biological mother and the other is either his mother in law or godmother maybe? Then Ruco is squished in between haha. Probably some family/ love themed drama...Anyways i think the costume fitting is tomorrow , July 16th (according to the thread for the series) so we will find out then anyways.

Posted Image

I really dislike the title at the moment. Hopefully this is only the working title and they will change it by the time they release the drama... Adding english to the titles always irks me.

Same here adding English word with Chinese words in their titles usually make it sound very chessy and lame!
Either use English name entirely or not use at all!

This series doesn't sound very promising at all if it's a typical family drama. Although it has Ruco but if it's crappy I'm definitely skipping and not wasting my time with it. I feel like Ruco might be stuck in Steven Ma's old situation if they continue to give him these low budget crappy series.

I just hope his role in there will be very extraordinary and outside the box no more professionals and glasses please...

The cast might be a little weak, except for Louise Lee and Ruco. Read from Kuangai, the story will be based on things that happen in the TV station, Ruco being the director, Evergreen being the reporter. The story will also revolve around Ruco, Louise Lee and Rebecca's mother-son relationship. A character has specifically been written for Priscilla, it seems that she will be the female lead here, most likely pairing up with Ruco. From the picture, they look ok. I don't think it's solely a family drama, since they also focus on the story that revolves around a TV station, I have a feeling, this story talks about the true story of the director himself Posted Image Just guessing.

Coincidentally, there was a tvb travel program hosted by Priscilla, i was watching it and to my surprise, she is quite natural, she is the happy-go-lucky and jovial type of girl, very down-to-earth with not much make-ups on. Her hosting skill is good. As for her acting, we just have to watch to judge. She was in a movie before, so, I think she has a little background in acting. The director must have seen some qualities in her.

Anyway, this series will be filmed, that's confirmed, but whether or not they are going to release it or warehouse it, we don't know. I hope all of these series that Ruco has filmed will not share the same fate as ATF! Geesh, speaking about ATF, I'm still pissed with TVB for postponing it. Such a good promising action-packed drama, can't believe that they are doing this. They only release all the series with their favorite 'biological' children, regardless of the quality of the dramas.

@Sport: I share the exact sentiments, I hope Ruco does not share Steven's fate. I think we have seen enough of the 'politics' in the tvb where the real good actors, who are not into 'shoe polishing' game with the execs will be ticked out eventually. Saddening, isn't it.

Is Ruco really just 180 cm? From what I have noticed he is taller than Raymond and around the same height as Kenneth.

As for the new series, I also hope it will become popular among the audience when it releases just as NGEW...even with the rather unknown cast.

Well at least there's the Coastline series with Raymond Wong! Now that series looking promising! From the screen-caps his character's expressions look like a shy character who will have a crush on Selena Li.

I'd rather they save the ATF series for later because they had to air the grand production SDU series which has similar topic but filmed before ATF. Actually ATF is a lower budget drama with reused uniform from SDU series. My guess is that TVB spent loads of money on the SDU drama so wanted to quickly reuse the props to make their money worth it.

Priscilla Wong's TVB series with Ruco Chan feels like she won first prize
Monday July 16, 2012 Hong Kong
Source: Oriental Daily
Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/

Posted Image Posted Image

Ruco Chan, Priscilla Wong, Louise Lee and Leung Ka Kei attended the costume fitting for TVB new series Heart of Road GPS[. In the series, Ruco plays a director and will pair up with Priscilla, who stars in her first TV series, as an assistant director. Priscilla worked as a program presenter at iCable and recently joined TVB. In her debut series, Priscilla will get quite a bit of screen time because earlier, TVB executive Catherine Tsang expressed she would get a role who has more than one line. Priscilla laughed: "It feels like I won first prize!" Then Ruco added: "You are my first prize!"

Recently, Ruco frequently gets appointed to lead the newcomers, he said: "When shooting The Other Truth, Tavia Yeung and the others were leading me for a long time. (You're considered Tavia's senior!) Tavia won many awards and got recognition from the audience." During the time, Ruco asked Priscilla with interest: "Have you watched my series when you were young?" Priscilla played along: "In the past few years I've been always watching you." She reveals her good friend Leung Ka Kei told her shooting series is really exhausting, she said: "She told me to bring my pajamas to the set, so I could sleep there!" Ruco gave advice as her senior: "When you think of each and everything as a challenge, then it won't be exhausting anymore!"

He is the one with red suit to the left, beside Selena Li.

Aside from taking the group photo Ruco will also be filming the new variety show "Fun three ½ weeks" and he will be paired with Nancy Wu in a parody.

doesn't the cast list for the parody resemble the promo clips they did like 2 years ago for Mahjong flying southwest? A lot of the actors (kenneth, ruco, linda) are the same, 3 brothers, all married plus it's premodern... maybe the writers were lazy?

Yes When I saw the list I also wonder why costume and cast looks like the Majong series! Actually it would've been so nice if they filmed that series. The story of 3 brothers and their family looks so comical and interesting!

It seems like Sport's dream come true all over again although we aren't sure that they will play a pair. I wonder if it's a whole different production or part of one of the two already confirmed dramas (one grand production with Joey Meng, 3gor and Bosco or Leung Choi yeun's pre-modern comedy? Although I don't think the one with Joey is likely since supposedly Raymond Wong is supposed to be in it too but he was present at the radio interview and they didn't mention him) I actually personally want to see Ruco film more ancient/ pre-modern dramas...

Some one posted a video of him at a mall function where he had to "sing". It was basically a guessing game where qiu bobo would sing in his native language some cantonese songs and people had to guess and Ruco would reveal the answer by singing the actual lyrics. I'm very impressed by Ruco's ability to "qing cheung" like sing without background music, even though it's only the chorus line. That's rather hard to do without a melody to follow to keep you on track. He sang "天梯" by CAllstar and <Chok> (well I think you all know who sang this but for some random reason it sounded much better coming from Ruco and without all that electronic background noise)

Some pictures posted from the filming of the new variety show (credit tvb-horizon.blogspot.com). I think Ruco was wearing white jeans and some kind of converse like shoes... not sure if this is intentional though to bring a comedic affect and show how sometimes tv productions aren`t taken so seriously?Or did they really run out of costume for him because there is so much filming going on... Anyways seems interesting it starts airing Monday (I think it's every Monday for the next 3 1/2 weeks hence the name). I like the premise of the "first line actors" being kidnapped and now this "kidnappers" are going to do whatever they want with them for a 3 weeks and a half. After watching some promo and behind the scenes interview clips, it seems like there will be a role reversal. The "first line actors" are all going to be the behind the scenes crew (hair and makeup, lighting, directing (haha Ruco seems to be in charge of this), while other actors are extras. Hopefully they get more witty jokes instead of just plain slapstick humor or gender reversal stuff but knowing TVB that's pretty much 90% of their content... Oh well we have no idea when Ruco will appear but I think it will be entertaining in general.

lol I remember how last time watching a video of Ruco with his fans one of their ringtone was 天梯 even though it was only the music portion I still recognized it. Although he sang 天梯 decently still can't compare to Andy Leung Chiu Fung (@CAllStar)'s original version. That song Chok is just horrible no matter who sings it the other composer's songs are also horrible and brainwashing repetitive.

It's too bad although the song is so popular CAllStar only had 1 top 10 song from RTHK because it was plugged during their debut year (all HK music awards are very status biased).

Did any notice how both Ruco and Raymond were wearing the same color shoes?
Also wonder why all 3 of them were wearing white shirts lol was that coincidence or provide by TVB staff?

@redmitten lol yes it seems like my wishes keep coming true...
But I really wished Nancy Wu was the female lead for that new drama rather than an unknown host Posted Image Why are those management so bias and not promoting Nancy? She deserves female lead roles more so than alot of the newer actresses that are getting lead roles! So many people are getting ahead of her without acting skills.

I would think that TVB would be too cheap to provide wardrobe for their artists during trips like these... these are most likely from their own... Interestingly enough... Raymond and Ruco are wearing almost the same thing! White Shirt, Grey jeans, Watch, tan shoes... "ching lui zhong"! couple outfit haha The trio were wonderful together on the radio show. As the DJ suggested they should really have their own show haha!

Yes it does seem that Ruco is wearing contacts far less than he has before. I like how he gives off a different feeling with or without glasses ( with more mature and knowledgeable, without more youthful). I think it's kind of a characteristic that allows him to play a variety of characters convincingly. I wish the producers would give him a chance at an evil role again. He has been getting a lot of protagonist roles lately. Yes he's being promoted and most of the first line roles are the good likeable positive characters but to keep it fresh they should allow for change so he's not acting with the same things all the time.

The new drama it seems to be that Ruco is a director (chinese name:夏日長) or a reality tv show about bringing teenager (16-17) to the more rural parts of China and experience life there without communication/ technology. Basically the lack of communication with the outside world should highlight the relationship between his "mothers" and maybe Priscilla. I think they can make it a very meaningful and heartfelt drama but I have a feeling TVB usually falls short and makes it overly draggy and cheesy. Please no BBQ or random dinner endings...
This is my interpertation of how the story will go:
Spoiler

I really don't want to see 25+ year old actors that don't look 16 trying to be the students... Although asians generally look young but still can't you just cast some young actors and give them a chance?

Info in chinese:
Spoiler

Btw when is Ruse of Engagement coming out? The last few trips Ruco has made he has been promoting it right? Don't tell me that they are warehousing it and releasing it overseas... But on the trip Kristal is promoting King Makers, Raymond, The Confidant and Ruco Ruse so it wouldn't make sense... they all should be released soon by the looks of it. It's edging closer and closer to anniversary time and time slots are filling up.. :(

Yup, I just read the news too. Im looking forward to it too. After Witness Insecurity, I kind of like Linda now. I hope Ruco & Linda are a pair in this drama. It will be refreshing to see Ruco with new girls.

Read the intro a bit, it's about the life of two young men, one was led astray and took on the otherwise an upright path and the other man took on the righteous path. I hope Ruco plays the more complicated role here instead of a good honorable role. I have had enough seeing the good side I want to see the dark side of him:P
