Singer Bada, former member of the now-disbanded female trio S.E.S., has been commissioned to work as an honorary ambassador to promote the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
The singer, whose real name is Choi Sung-hee, received a letter of appointment from Kang Moo-hyun, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, at the auditorium of the Hyundai Building in Gye-dong, downtown Seoul Wednesday. As a honorary ambassador, Bada (meaning "sea" in Korean) will participate in various events and campaigns to keep the ocean environment clean, as well as those aimed at promoting the port city of Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, as a candidate to host the 2012 World Expo.
Bada debuted in 1998 as the trio's lead vocalist, and successfully transformed into a solo artist with her solo debut album "A New Day of Renew," in 2004.
