The Chinese actress reportedly reduced her current workload to try for a son and spend more time with family
After spending close to a year working behind-the-scenes for her directorial debut, Vicki Zhao recently promised to spend more time with her loved ones.
Besides acting in the Chinese romantic comedy film, Love, Vicki spent most of the time preparing for her directorial debut movie, Our Eventually Lost Youth since March 2012.
Although Vicki and her family of three were photographed enjoying carefree moments in France last year-end, You Long was allegedly unhappy with his wife for prioritising her career over family, and they even had a heated argument over this matter.
Vicki's directorial debut film is now in its post-production stage and near completion. An insider revealed that Vicki has "finally understood the importance of family after being a director herself" and has promised to "spend more time with her two-year-old daughter".
The actress-director has reportedly reduced her current job assignments, only taking up photo shoots and modelling projects, which was seen as an attempt to mend the relationship with her husband. Vicki is also rumoured to be maintaining her health condition in order to try for a second child, preferably a son.
The 36-year-old gradually stayed out of the limelight since her marriage to Chinese property mogul, Huang You Long in 2008 and only made a comeback after the birth of their daughter in April 2010.

Ariel Lin as Yang Xuewu, the focus of the main love triangle in the series.
The historical King of Lanling, Gao Changmu, lived in the sixth century during the Northern and Southern dynasties. He was renowned for his prowess in battle, as a great general. He is also the source of the English title of he drama – as “the masked beauty” who had to hide his gorgeous face in battle with a fearsome mask, so that his enemies would take him seriously. Don’t be too optimistic about his ending, though – he was born to a noble family, that went through a total of six emperors within twenty-eight years. The distrust between the various brothers (and uncles and nephews) would lead to numerous murders – the King of Lanling, naturally, attracted jealousy as well.

Xu Zheng wrote, directed and starred in LOST IN THAILAND, which made 1.3 billion RMB in the Mainland and will open in Hong Kong tomorrow. Xu Zheng earlier came to Hong Kong to promote and admitted that he never expected it to be such a hit. "Many people said the film was a dark horse that would have over 1 billion at the box office. I thought it was a white horse. Everyone underestimated it. I thought it would make 300 to 400 million. However after a week it already broke 300 million at the box office. When it was about to reach 1 billion, I thought it was crazy. It already had nothing to do with me, it has become a phenomenon. Everyone was going out of curious." Why neither the poster nor the promotion was focused on Fan Bingbing? He pointed out that if he put all the big stars on the poster, he did not think it would be better. When viewers saw Fan Bingbing in the movie they were pleasantly surprised.
As for the film's Hong Kong release, he humbly said, "Will it reach 1 or 2 million? If next time I have a movie release in Hong Kong it should have a Cantonese version like LET THE BULLETS FLY, then Hong Kong viewers would be able to relate to it." Xu Zheng said that he grew up on Hong Kong films, Stephen Chow Sing Chi, Johnnie To Kei Fung, Peter Chan Ho Sun, Derek Yee Tung Sing, Wong Kar Wai and John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) were all directors who he admired. He said, "I ..... (article cut to save bandwidth)
