Holy Smokes!
A part 4 already?!?!
Congrats all my "Hom" girls and boys.

I used to be active at AF and stopped so AF deleted my account, but I'm back and hopefully will be more active.

I loved the talkasia interview. It was a nice treat to see and really gauge how talented Leehom is. I hope the HKPO performances will be released onto DVD or something.

And a question: Does anyone know the official Leehom youtube channel? There's a gazillion of them....lol.

Welcome back Hom Girl,

There's a WangLeehom2008 @ youtube and then there's a LeehomWang@youtube...my guess is that those are the two most official. Though LeehomWang is based in Taiwan, and some uploads aren't shared because of location, yep I figure that's the most official one.

MissyA, 2 days until we leave... 3 until the concert. I think I'm driving all my coworkers nut because I am so excited. I'm freaking out! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! So happy! :)

As for a duet... I don't know. I think hearing him sing with Leona Lewis could be very interesting. She's got a beautiful voice.

^^ oOo awesomee :D Jane's voice is absolutely astonishing. Can't wait to see the music video. Now that I think about it, Leehom made a lot of MVs already....it's going to total up to 6.

Leehom hasn't been promoting his album as much as his previous albums (or maybe it seems like it to me). He hardly went on shows to promote his album. I don't think he went on 100% Entertainment after his album released, but I think it's kind of better since the whole "buying charts" thing is going on between Leehom and Alan. Ehh :( What a shame. I love when Leehom goes on that show. Last time he went was Dec 25 as the judge of the singing contest of his songs.

Workaholic" Leehom Wang films MV overnight; teased as hoping for a comfortable relationship

Source: http://ent.tom.com/
Translated by catalie @ http://asianfanatics.net

On January 21, Leehom rushed the filming of MV "Another Heaven" [另一个天堂] early in the morning. After completing all necessary filming work, he immediately flew to the U.S for his January 24 Las Vegas concert. Leehom admitted that staying up at night to film a MV is no problem because he can catch up on sleep on the plane. Having the rare opportunity of spending Chinese New Year in the gambling city, he will try his luck at the casino! Leehom revealed that his International Concert Tour will include many different acts; when his bare Music-Man cartoon appears, the narrator will say, "When Music-Man takes off his hero attire, he's just a normal guy who needs love." When they heard this, fans interpreted it as: Deep down, workaholic Leehom actually hopes to find smooth love. After (the Las Vegas concert), Leehom will be gaining weight for his new film 大兵小将 with Jackie Chan.

*****
The man is a crazed maniac. Filming a video and then flying to Vegas?!!! He makes me laugh with his crazy schedule. And could this be actual confirmation about the Jackie Jan movie? I'm scared to believe it without hearing it from his mouth!

Vegas - TWO DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, then I dunno......I think the latest duet with Jane is great, first duet I've liked in ages. I did like the one he did with Selina from SHE. HK wise..........Miriam ?...I dont listen to much HK music......most of them are chicken voices who cant sing. Be shame to duet with leehom when they have no talent.

That Las Vagas concert looks crazy, sooo jealous of Kiwi........girl wont be able to sleep tmw night !!! :tricky:

He's putting on weight for the Jackie Chan movie.....awwwww, the things he does for his work, those cute abs are going for now and he worked hard to achieve them too.....

hmmm, maybe stefanie sun? but she's fr neither hk nor tw... but at least she's from asia! idk, but i just think their duet would not become one of those lovey dovey kinds... i'm really looking forward to a fun duet (not the cute type with selina though). deserts xuan sounds like cool too. they can each do their own thing, cuz their styles are so different. then we'll see how sparks fly :)

it is hilarious.. i was laughing.. ^^ it is shown that the song is about that judge.. haahahah~

anyway,, which female singer? i would love if he sing with Joanne Wang.. an English song too! i like.. wait.. love her voice.. its so smooth.. his best duet with an asian singer so far was with Jane Zhang, which made me love him more because he made the mv!!

i think he did say he's going to film the movie with Jackie at a conference.. i thought he already said that...

That video definitely put a smile on me and made me laugh. It's totally different from all his other music videos. So cute with his PJs on :D The whole fighting scene was especially funny.

Now I have to read the English translations since I don't understand 50% of the lyrics :) hehe Does anyone know where I can find it?

omgosh, thanks kiwi18 :D Woohoo Now I can sing along like a fool :)

seriously, that girl is way too lucky! haha Leehom picked her up - another randomness.

LOL I hope it's no rated NC-17, but I highly doubt it would be rated that. I wonder if it's an action flick. Leehom would totally do all the running and kicking. Hmm but him as chubby/fat gives me an impression it might be comedy, though I can't say that for sure.

And his concert in 2 days! AHH To the people who are going, please take lots of pictures and videos, especially if he's trying to crack funny english jokes again :D Thanks

Haha, for those of you who are concerned that Leehom will lose the abs, I'm pretty sure by gaining weight, he meant he wanted to bulk up some more so that he'd look more like he did in the Shangrila days. I don't think he's going to become "chubby," just not as skinny as he is now.

I loved his latest MV. It's a Leehom that never comes out. The crazy funny Leehom.

I don't think it's necessarily about "the judge." I think maybe it's saying music can't be judged. Everyone can enjoy and make music. Great message. I love how Leehom is always about the music.

^^forget it. i read the lyrics..haha its like the biggest eff-you song. nice leehom. i admire your courage. i believe him when he said this album was very personal.

Hey all!

I just wanted to share something. In my search for "Heroes of Earth" translations, I found this really interesting academic research paper about Leehom's "chinked out" music. It talks about the personal and national identity expressed in his two albums "Shangri-La" and "Heroes of Earth." The author dissects the meanings and implications of his music in terms of nationalism and identity. It's very very interesting. I read all 28 pages. You'll learn lots!

http://www.allacadem...0/p168830-1.php

These two are definitely my favorite albums. Masterpieces. ART! ART! ART!

Again,
Does anyone know where I can get English translation for the "Heroes of Earth" album?
Thank you very much!

I'm so glad this thread is getting more active than before. It's only 2 days since I last logged in and there are many posts to catch up with :P

YEAYYY The new Mv is out! It's what i've been looking forward to these days!!! Hmmm.. NOT really what I imagined it to be like (the one with the veg stuck on his teeth and still brilliantly smiling to the cameras LOL). Nonetheless, it was still awesome! I think this MV is a breakthrough of his works so far and it's really what he wanna portrays in the lyrics (and of course, his real thoughts). I'm glad that he bravely wrote the lyrics and shot the MV!!!!!!!

And his concert in 2 days! AHH To the people who are going, please take lots of pictures and videos, especially if he's trying to crack funny english jokes again :D Thanks

ANYONE HEARD HIS CHINGLISH JOKE IN ONE OF THE CONCERT? IT WAS STUPIDLY FUNNY AND LOVEABLE AT THE SAME TIME (cos Leehom was the one sharing it :P)

O M G ! 28 pages?! whatever, i HAVE to read it. such a genuine research of Leehom's works! I'm glad that those researchers (hopefully Leehom's fans?) did one such scholarly journals on him. I mean, HOW MANY artists/musicians actually get people to write SCHOLARLY JOURNALS on their music!!

i wanna make sure though
if i remembered right...couple years ago he said that was his brothers baby right?

Yup, that's his nephew. So cuteeee!!!

hahah, I'm not a miriam fan either, just plucking a name out of air, dont listen to HK music. I love Cass !! I had all her CD's when I was younger, she has a great voice, but yeah, she had a baby and retired out of the industry.

Also wanted to add something I've found - Jackie Chan gushing about leehom, he sounds like a mssive fan....schroll to the bottom. I love the bit where he says "heaven was very good to him, gifting him with good looks and talent, but wasnt very fair with the rest of us". hahah

Leehom Wang becomes ‘plumber’; takes on the post as environmental protection ambassador
Friday January 23, 2009 Taiwan

Source : Sohu
Translated by Sarah @ http://asianfanatics.net

Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Earlier, just in time for the Lunar New Year, “MUSIC-MAN’ Leehom Wang turned into ‘Plumber A-Hom’ and personally replaced his SonyBMG record company’s lightbulbs into energy-saving lightbulbs. He said: “I hope that through my influence, it can let every household in Taiwan change into energy-saving lightbulbs. Although it is more expensive, it can be used for a long time, and it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and it is more energy-efficient.”

Since he is the environmental protection ambassador for Taipei city, of course he needs to set an example. Starting from food, clothes and living, during the spring festival, Leehom will return to America to visit his 94-year old grandmother and other family members. He said that before he leaves, he will turn off the master switch at his house, so to save energy.

Leehom has always used energy-saving lightbulbs in his home, and they are all personally replaced by him. Earlier, he read a report on energy-saving lightbulbs and he discovered they have produced a new LED lightbulb overseas, and is currently the most energy-efficient lightbulb: “Although the price is quite expensive, apparently it can be used for 20 years, very energy-efficient. Unfortunately, Taiwan hasn’t been introduced to this yet.” He expressed that he will strive to be the endorser of energy-saving lightbulbs.

He also encourages everyone to use cycling as a means of transport. And he specially brought out his own bike to demonstrate. He said: “I usually ride my bike in the middle of the night, as exercise, or just to go out. Sometimes, I will ride my bike to the memorial hall to do some running, fewer people will recognize me in the middle of the night.” And when he goes cycling, he will always have a helmet on, even if it means flattening his hair. He says he is a public figure: “I need to set a good example.”
