Recently, Tony Leung and Carina Lau’s wedding album has been revealed, amongst the photos includes one where Tony is kissing Carina; the 2 newlyweds seem to still be as romantic as ever. Some women will make people disregard their age; people think of her as a symbol, a sign of our era, Carina Lau is one of them. Perhaps many people dislike her, and she has never been regarded as a typical beauty, but noone can deny that she is someone who never bows down to fate and setbacks. She is a woman who has become more and more spectactular, like a touch of red wine, not dazzling, but her warmth will make people drunk.

ELLE: How does it feel to be a newlywed?

Carina: Initially, our wedding was only held to comfort both our mothers, but after receiving so many blessing from friends, I now feel that this wedding was held for ourselves. After getting married, it feels very good, feels that life has entered a new phase. In the past, I liked to party with many people, and drink wine. Now, I still drink wine, but I like to have a glass of red wine at home, read a good book, carefully savouring the taste.

ELLE: Many women will choose to marry in this season, can you share some of your experiences?

Carina: I feel very lucky that the whole process has been so beautiful. Of course, during preparations, there were many trivial details, and constant troubles, but now when I think back, I feel every moment is a worthy memory as an aftertaste to life. I hope that all the new brides will enjoy this time that belongs to her. In the process, she will definitely feel nervous, and skin state will be worse, hence she has to remember to drink lots of water, guarantee sleep, and don’t think too much about something that can’t be resolved in a day, get a good night’s sleep first.

Carina Lau to be Empress Wu in Di Renjie

Ever since Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Carina Lau got married, allegation(s) of Carina is pregnant had been spreading. Recently when Carina appeared in good friend Eric Tsang’s birthday party, she had a scraf wrapped round her stomach and she did not take any alcoholic drink, this makes the media guess if she’s pregnant. Carina’s manager told reporters: “She’s not pregnant.”

Today, Huayi Brothers announced that Carina is not pregnant and she would join the cast for Tsui Hark’s Di Renjie, taking up the role of Empress Wu and this would be her first film after her marriage. She joined other heavyweights like Andy Lau, Li Bingbing and Tony Leung Kar Fai in the film.

It’s earlier alleged that Tsui Hark and wife Shi Nan Sun dine with Lin Ching-hsia in order to invite her to take up the role of Empress Wu. Lin Ching-hsia also expressed that she had read the script and has intention of returning to showbiz but it is not known if the Empress Wu role is not heavy and not enough space to give her confidence of exceeding her previous outstanding ‘Dong Fang Bu Bai’. With Lin Ching-hsia hoping to make a grand return, the Empress Wu role in turns changed to Carina whom is eager to make a return after her marriage.

Huayi Brothers had announced in their website that Carina will be Empress Wu, Li Bingbing as Shanguan Wan Er, this will be their first collaboration on the silver screen. One quiet and another martial arts skilled, they would battle emotion and martial art with Detective Dee Andy.

It is understand that the new Chinese title ‘Tong Tian Di Guo’ had not been passed, thus the film will still title as Di Renjie.

Hong Kong actress Carina Lau will star in Hark Tsui's new film "Di Renjie", which will start shooting in Hengdian, a movie and television city in eastern China's Zhejiang Province, next month.

The 43-year-old will perform the role of "Wu Zetian", China's only female emperor who lived in the Tang Dynasty. Veteran actresses Brigitte Lin Ching-hsia and Cherie Chung were also considered for the role. In the end Huayi Brothers, the film's primary investor, chose Carina Lau because they had faith that she could do the job.

This is Carina Lau's first film gig since getting married to famous actor Tony Leung . The report also clears up Lau's pregnancy rumor.

Hong Kong super star Andy Lau will star as Di Renjie, one of the most celebrated officials of Wu Zetian's reign and was portrayed as a talented detective by many novels and screen works.

Carina Lau is pregnant and she is all smiles about it.

The 43-year-old Hong Kong actress, who got married to longtime boyfriend Tony Leung last July, had given up her partying lifestyle following her wedding filled with the hope of having a child, reported Shin Min Daily News.

Besides jogging regularly and going to bed early, she brewed tonic soups for her husband and supplemented her own diet with vitamins. However, Carina was still unable to conceive six months into her new lifestyle.

Thankfully, good friend Sandra Ng stepped in.

The Hong Kong comedienne introduced them to an expert who had helped many childless couples conceive.

Prompted by her desire for children, Carina reported to the clinic almost every week even though each consultation cost thousands of Hong Kong dollars.

She found herself pregnant shortly thereafter, but the Leungs decided to keep mum about the good news until her pregnancy stabilised.

Carina Lau Spotted at Fertility Clinic for Assisted Pregnancy

Since marrying Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Carina Lau Ka Ling has tried very hard to conceive a baby. Although numerous rumors circulated that she was pregnant, Carina denied the news earlier at a public appearance. She noted that she will be filming an upcoming movie.

Yesterday, reporters spotted Carina visiting a doctor's office in Central District while accompanied by her assistant. Wearing sunglasses, Carina did not leave the doctor's office until 1 PM.

When Carina saw the reporters were taking photos of her, she was extremely surprised. Questioned as to whether or not she was to seeing a physician for her pregnancy, Carina hurriedly got into a car and did not answer.

Inside the office building that Carina visited, there was a fertility clinic that offered assisted reproduction services. The center provided services such as artificial insemination and in-vitro fertilization.

Unkempt Andy meet “empress” Carina Lau

After welcoming “Empress Wu Zhetian” Carina Lau, director Tsui Hark had started to shoot the day scenes for the movie Detective Dee. Reporters rushed to the shooting venue in Hengdian, the crew was shooting the scene of Shang-guan Er (Li Bingbing) bringing out Di Ren Jie (Andy Lau) whom was just released from prison at Qin Emperor Palace. With his hair covering his face, moustache not shaven, he was in a dirty and unkempt state. “This is the image of Di Ren Jie just released from prison” Andy introduces: “Too hot …..”

From what can be seen, Empress Wu took good care of Di Ren Jie as he was asked to sit beside her, but Di Ren Jie think that he would be returning to the prison, thus he did not wash up before meeting Empress Wu. Director Tsui Hark arranged to shoot the scene between Empress Wu and Di Ren Jie. It can be seen that Di Ren Jie said something to Empress Wu softly, Empress Wu turned her head to one side as though she does not wish to listen to what Di Ren Jie is saying. After a while, Empress Wu said: “You guessed wrongly this time.” She then stood up, looking straight ahead and said: “I’ll agree to your request only you managed to break the burning corpse case!” Di Ren Jie then stood up and walked towards the imperial guards and said something to them. Empress Wu then flagged her sleeves, turn around to draw out the imperial sword. That’s the end of the scene.

The shooting venue is very popular. The high tower that Empress Wu seated is built on the ground of Qin Emperor Palace, the staircase had Jet Li and Chen Daoming walked in Hero, the execution ground of Sanada Hiroyuki in The Promise, also the Heavenly Palace in Forbidden Kingdom. For the shooting of Detective Dee, Tsui Hark did not make much changes to the palace, he just added a “ming tang” board at the grand hall.

At this current stage, the story and character image are in the “secret” status. Carina refused to be interviewed due to her complicated head gear, Andy and Li Bingbing expressed their view on the image of Carina. Li Bingbing whom also was wearing multiple layer of clothing said: “It’s tough for Carina.” Meanwhile, Andy quipped: “Initially my wig is not so unkempt, but after several different images for Carina, lastly this is decided …..” Andy describe his huge wig and said: “In order to make the scene more accommodating, my hair was also being styled to be so unkempt…”

Among the three actors, Andy’s “prisoner look” seems to be the most relaxing, but he still complain of shooting period movie in hot weather, he said: “When you see that this outfit is the most thin, there are still several other costumes which is thicker than this.” Andy did joked and complained: “In future, I would not be involved in period shooting between April and August!”

her rape stuff was just seen by my friend , it was downloaded fron the web didn't actually seen it myself but according from somewhere she did admit the she got kidnapped and raped by three japanese man. i really admire her before i heard about this news she's a good actress.after i heard about this news i admired her even more....her courage to admit to it and still stand tall. it's like the incident didn't affected her at all. im starting to hate japanese men now...........

Japanese men raped her??? Where did you hear that? That sounds like it might be some rumor started by a Chinese person, you know, because of the rivalry between us Chinese and Japanese.
Anyway, I read it was the Triad that did this, and the Triad are Chinese. So, in fact, it was Chinese that were the mastermind of this horrible act. I hate to admit this, since I am Chinese. But we should not make up rumors about Japanese just because of some racist attitude.

And, Carina Lau said they kidnapped her and only took nude pictures of her. She claimed that she was not raped. But, I heard there is video proof that she was definitely raped, and MANY MANY people have downloaded that video through Bittorrent and it is still available today because so many people have it, and nobody can prevent it from spreading on Bittorrent.

She only admitted to being in those pictures because everybody saw them in that magazine and she could not deny that it was her. But she never admitted to being raped. Actually, she lied about that. So, we can like her for being pretty for her age, and maybe respect her for her acting, but we can't respect her for admitting the truth, because she never did.

Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung secretly meeting, Carina continues to act
Sunday August 23, 2009 Hong Kong

Posted Image

There have been rumors that Maggie Cheung and Tony Leung are seeing each other behind Carina Lau's back. Report said Carina was so angrey that she went to catch them together, but Maggie had left earlier to save the embarrassment.
The whole saga seemed like a plot from a TV series.

Carina was asked by reporter in Shanghai when she was filming "Using Heartbeat" directed by Stanley Kwan as guest appearance. When she was approached by the reporters, she knew what they were going to ask her and she was well prepared by smiling and waving to the reporters, saying that the rumor is not true. She asked the reporter "What do you think this has happened? To tell you the truth, I think people like a love story, and you don't want this love story to end. If you like, we can continue to act."

Is Carina Lau Cheating on Tony Leung?

Posted Image

Hong Kong celebrity couple Tony Leung and Carina Lau have been married for slightly more than a year and already there appears to be cracks in their marriage.

Posted Image
Posted Image

In August, Hong Kong media reported that Lau, 43, created a scene when she found out about Leung’s rendezvous with friend and frequent co-star Maggie Cheung , but this time, the spotlight is on Lau.

When Leung, 47, was away, the actress reportedly took the opportunity to throw a house party and was even photographed behaving 'intimately' with a male guest.

Described as a Jackie Chan look-alike because of his big nose, the man and Lau were seen having a chat in the kitchen. As their conversation got more intense, their body language became more intimate. Fortunately, Lau who appeared to be rather clear-headed, left the kitchen before anything could happen, the Hong Kong media reported.

The actress, who has a penchant for the nightlife, once told the media that she would quit her bad habits and stay away from nightspots. However, it appears that she has not been able to live up to her words.

Lau and Leung’s relationship has always been under the spotlight. The couple, whose 19-year long courtship saw endless break-ups, finally tied the knot in Bhutan in July last year. Since then, they have been trying to conceive a baby but without any success.

Carina Lau Goes Shopping To Fight Prenatal Depression

After trying for 2 years and spending about 500,000HKD for artificial semination, Carina Lau finally became a mom at the age of 44!

Happy for this big present, earlier this year Carina already returned to her hometown Suzhou to relax. She also stopped drinking, smoking, and partying to prevent miscarriage. Unfortunately, she became more stressed and nervous. Plus husband Tony Leung isn't there with her, Carina started to become depressed and has to relax by shopping.

Lately she showed up in Central with her big belly and seemed to have gained about 10kg. Wearing a scarf, mask, black sunglasses and cap in a warm weather (20-ish Celsius), it's hard to hide her curvier body. Reporters saw her tried on 15 pairs of shoes in half hour. In the end she bought several pairs of flats. She wasn't aware of being followed and appeared surprised when she saw reporters. She went back into the store accompanied by security guard. After about 10 minutes, Carina left escorted by staff. Although reporters nearby were taking pictures of her, but she still got onto the car slowly and carefully.

Carina Lau Considers Herself Happy, Cherishes The Present

Source: Oriental Daily
Translated by: KAY @ http://kays-entertainment.blogspot.com

Carina Lau attended to Chaumet 230 anniversary celebration dinner in a Lanvin blue dress and 4-inch tall heels. She met Mainland actress Chen Chong, who showed up in a black Escada dress. The two held hands immediately for pictures. Talked about having babies, Carina said: "I think we're very happy already. We need to cherish what we have right now. Tony and I have consensus, let it be."

In addition, yesterday Carina went shopping in Central alone. She shopped a designer store Max Mara. Carina, who was being followed by reporters, seemed annoyed and counterasked: "What's there to take pictures of?" During the period, several girls with a donation box in their hands came to her and asked her to donate some money. But she said: "No thanks" and left immediately.

Carina Lau suffers 20 hours without rest, due to Donnie Yen?
Monday November 22, 2010 Hong Kong
Source: Oriental Daily
Translated by: aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/

Posted Image Posted Image

Carina Lau is recently busy shooting for Pegasus Motion Picture's All Well, Ends Well 2011 (最強囍事). She expressed that for 20 hours she did not rest and implied that it is due to having to rush the scenes with Donnie Yen. Yesterday, Carina, Donnie, Louis Koo, Maggie Lee, Ciwi Lam, Irene Wong and producer Wong Bak Ming attended the movie's press conference. Cecilia Cheung did not attend because she was sick. Carina Lau said: "I was thinking for a long time last night, I can't be suffering like this. I can handle it, but I'm afraid the results won't turn out good. Not enough sleep, lack of oxygen, luckily the dialogue is very funny, so I can laugh."

Asked if it was because of Donnie's several movies scheduled that are overlapping that cause the rush? Carina said: "Should be, definitely rushing him, it's a busy period for him. I am actually not that busy." Donnie explained: "In fact, my schedule is not overlapped, it's just one movie after another. This year it's only 3 movies, not counting the one I'm starting tomorrow." After Carina heard this, she said: "Huh? Another one? Exactlly like that. Really have to calculate the overtime money."

Seeing this, Donnie did some sweet talking: "Actually Carina Jeh is a very good actress, very playful, pretty and young. It's rare for her to accept filming movies." Carina replied: "Thank you for picking me!"

Carina Lau & Tony Leung love letters transferring love sweetly

Carina as a lengmo

Posted Image

Last year Carina Lau continuously shot 3 films and didn't stop her horses in all the promotions, flying everywhere. For her new Lunar New Year film All Well Ends Well 2011, Carina accepted an interview. She talked a lot about her feeling of shooting a comedy and claimed she doesn't have the comedic skills. What she thinks is funny is different from the majority, so she doesn't know how make audience laugh.

During the shooting period, Donnie Yen boasted that he has talent for comedies, Carina heard this and laughed out loud: "Him? Are you kidding? If he had it, then I have more talent! We're both all wrong, if he's slow, then I'm fast. Perhaps the results of smashing us together will be funny."

In the film, Carina changes into several different styles, such as a flight attendant, an author and a lengmo. Was her lengmo appearance the most memorable? She joked: "Well I do have a 'career line', just the feeling is different, too far in age, but it was pretty fun. (Has husband Tony Leung seen it?) I guess he has, he had a gulp sound and shallowed it in, maybe he didn't dare to laugh, but I can accept it."

With so many different appearances, Carina's author role was related to her dreams, turns out that in reality she loves to write. She likes to take her feelings and experiences into writing, these records will only be valuable collections and won't be published in a book. Asked if it's an usual practice for her to write love letters? Carina sweetly smiled and said she does write letters: "It's quite romantic. Well it can easily touch someone. The expressions, thoroughness and content can definitely be understood. Also, the words I used are beautiful, not poetic, can be kept as a collection. For so many years we put it by our bedside." She also said that SMS has no feelings, during holidays and special occasions, she will personally call good friends to send wishes: "It's better to be able to hear the real voice. There's no feeling in SMS, lacks the mood. (Sprayed perfume on the letter too?) Not telling, I feel it should be like that, part of the emotional appeal. I have to put it in a safe box because it's a valuable collection, in the future if I don't know what to do, I can take it out to look at. People are changing every day, the letter is watching us grow, so it's really good."

Recently, Carina was invited by a friend to do sing publicly. It was strictly for friendship, she personally will not do it: "I know I am not that, didn't have any feeling when I went in. Acting is different because I accumulated so many years of experience!"

Carina Lau Sighs To Give Edison Chen Another Chance
Monday August 29, 2011 Hong Kong

The day before yesterday, Carina Lau (劉嘉玲) went to Chengdu to attend a promotional event and accepted an interview with the mainland media, explaining her earlier move on Weibo of uploading an intimate “face rubbing against face” photo taken with Edison Chen (陳冠希). The said photo incurred rife discussion amongst the netizens, who were worried that Carina's taking of the photo with Edison would follow in the tragic footsteps of Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝) and Nicholas Tse's (謝霆鋒) marriage and eventually end up in divorce.

Carina expressed that her act of publicly disclosing this photo was to tell Edison that he's great, remind Edison that he still has friends around him and that anything negative is only those that are hiding in the dark, looking at him. Carina professed that she had seen Edison grow up, saw him experiencing some test in his life and that he (Edison) had already paid his dues. Thus, she hoped that the outside world would give Edison a chance for rebirth.

When mentioned of netizens worrying about her marriage, Carina smiled and said, “I want to thank them. By putting me and Edison together, it makes me feel younger already!” Asked about sources citing that she was rumored together with Edison before and that she was also rumored to be involved in the past sex photos scandal, Carina replied, “Show me those photos; I wish to see them too!”

With regards to rumors that her marriage with actor Tony Leung (梁朝偉) was on the rocks, Carina expressed that every couple also has their own marital problems but the crux was how to go about solving them. Asked when she would conceive a child for Tony, Carina responded, “We did communicate about this. We will leave it to fate and depend on Heaven's arrangements. Heaven has already given us aplenty.”

Carina Lau denies rumors of her marriage on the rocks

Carina Lau and Tony Leung's marriage rumored on the rocks again. Yesterday Carina attended the Hong Kong sales exhibition for the Shanghai 'Mandala' properties. Aside from dressing in a low-cut dress to prove she's not pregnant, she also denied changes in her marriage. She denounced the person who wrote the report, that [he/she] has a bad character.

Carina said: "Aiya! You really must ask the writer, I don't know how to answer, nor do I know why they wrote such report. Perhaps some magazines just want to attract the eyes, so they make up ridiculous stories. We are still in showbiz, so there will always be gossips."

Asked if she and Tony are as in love as ever and won't have problems? Carina asked reporters back, what problems will there be? However, she does admit they sometimes have arguments, she said: "This matter does not only happen in married couples, but in boyfriend and girlfriend or even between friends. This is life. Lately, Tony is in HK, you all shouldn't be so sensitive, some people don't have a good character, writing such stories without any evidence. I just laugh it off." She plans to go on vacation with Tony soon, but does not plan to go skiing in Japan because still hasn't finished shooting The Grand Master, so she didn't want him to get hurt. Reporters were surprised the film hasn't completed shooting, Carina said: "You all go ask Wong Kar Wai. I want to ask him too!"

(Red arrow = Kent Tong's daughter Roxanne Tong, a Miss HK contestant)

Yesterday the 10 Miss Hong Kong contestants attended an event and met with the five judges including Andy Lau and Carina Lau. This is Andy's first time on the Miss HK judging panel, he frankly expressed his ideal Miss HK is a girl with long hair and eyes with spirit. Also, he expressed Miss HK should have strong verbal ability and a balance of goodwill and beauty. In regards to the constant gossips floating around Miss HK, Andy said he hasn't paid attention to any of it, but believes there will bound be such misunderstandings when participating in the contest. If you're the winner, then the gossips will follow you for several years, so it's best to just get the first or second runner-up. When asked if Andy will allow his daughter to participate in Miss HK? He avoided the question.

The elegant Carina put pressure on everyone at the event, she believes Miss HK should not only have the beauty and wisdom, but also advance with modern society, increase EQ and face the news. Carina expressed she was conservative back in the day, so she never thought of participating in Miss HK. She said back when she was in the Artistes Training Class, the teacher suggested that she run for Miss HK, but at the time she couldn't accept wearing bikinis. When speaking of the gossips revolving around the Miss HK contestants? She said: "Artistes have gossips too. If we don't go through this path, then how would we know how the scenery is like out there?" Carina laughed and said if she participated in Miss HK, she may not have had the opportunity to meet her husband Tony Leung. She said fate is hard to predict, if there is fate, they can meet no matter what.

When speaking of TVB inviting Andy back to shoot a series for them, Carina expressed she has always been open too. "Especially for TVB, they're my cradle. We have a relationship. Money is not an issue, have to look at the script." Andy mentioned he really hopes to be in an idol drama? She said: "Really? He's currently my idol too, but can he still be a teenager?" She laughed and said if they were to shoot an idol drama together, that wouldn't be too good because she's more suitable as a metropolis matured woman, but Andy is her first choice for a co-star. She said: "He brings me luck! (How about Tony Leung?) I bring him luck!" Carina expressed if she were to choose among the artistes, she would choose Bosco Wong: "I met him personally before, he has the taste of a star."

*Miss Hong Kong 2012 final is held on August 26, 2012.

It has been quite a while since Carina Lau released a song, and now fans of the actress will be able to hear her melodious voice once again.

As reported on TVB News World, the 47-year-old actress has recently recorded a theme song for her new movie "Bends" that was recently revealed to be nominated for the Un Certain Regards segment of the Cannes Film Festival.

The actress revealed that the idea of her singing the theme song, "The Beginning Of The End", came during dinner with producer Shi Nansun, radio personality Winnie Yu and actor Chen Kun, who agreed that she was the most suitable person to record the song.

The actress, who last recorded a song with the late Anita Mui in 2001, expressed, "I had a pressure while recording it in the studio too. I could only adjust my emotions. This song was performed with half singing and half narrating, so the feeling was decent."

Meanwhile, when asked if she is looking forward to winning Best Actress for her role in the movie, Carina stated, "I never thought about it. I just take things easy nowadays. I want to work seriously and enjoy the process. The result is unimportant."

The actress also revealed that her husband Tony Leung Chiu-Wai will be accompanying her to the festival to show his support.

In "Bends", Carina Lau played an upper class socialite learning class and cultural differences through a mainland driver, but the actress joked that in truth, she only belonged to the upper middle class and is happy to be where she's at.

As reported on HK Top Ten, at the Cannes press conference for her new movie, "Bends", Carina stressed, "Happiness is not measured with money. Happiness is for you to find in life, to see how you face life and your bliss."

Using her own examples, she shared, "When we're at home, (Tony) Leung Chiu-Wai concentrates on his model building and Wing Chun training, while I am busy with bills and chores. Yet I am still very happy. I don't want to keep an eye on my husband. I only want to help him achieve."

Meanwhile, when speaking of the growing conflict between China and Hong Kong, the 47-year-old expressed, "We live on the same earth, so everyone should co-exist peacefully. We shouldn't create deliberate conflict. We would have conflict, which is understandable but we should think about the premise first and shouldn't blow up the matter too much."

Carina also praised new director Flora Lau Wan Man for not adding controversial scenes to commercialize the film and persisted with her original idea.

"She has won my respect," the actress enthused.

When asked if they are anticipating good box office results when the movie is released back home, producer Shi Nansun pointed out, "Bends is an art film. It had no box office pressure."

Actress Carina Lau recently dismissed rumours that she and her husband Tony Leung Chiu-Wai are opting to get a surrogate to have their children.

TVB News World reported that the 47-year-old actress, who attended the Hong Kong Ballet fundraiser on 7 June, dismissed the rumours as pure speculations, and revealed that if she wanted to have a child, she would have one on her own.

"I wouldn't judge others with my own values or life attitude," the actress expressed. "We are very happy, with or without children. With the technological advancements now it can absolutely be done."

When asked if she would ever consider artificial insemination, Carina answered in the negative, and added, "We don't have to have a child, now we are very happy too. Actually I am not very patient. I can play with Li Yan (Faye Wong's daughter) for a little then I am fine. If you keep this up then it's hard to say."

Following rumours of Zhou Xun's romantic relationship with Nicholas Tse that is linked to her previous affair with Tony Leung, the latter's wife, Carina Lau posted a statement about jealousy online, triggering speculations that the actress was hinting about the scandal.

As reported on Xinhua, the actress recently wrote a long post on her Weibo, saying, "Jealousy of a person would not gain you anything or reduce the achievement of the other. Changing the environment may not be easy, but changing yourself is."

She continued, "Do you feel that everything is too mundane and that you lack of new ideas? If you go out, try to take a new route. It may sound simple, but it will give you an interesting change!"

With earlier reports saying that Carina has been jealous of Tony's close relationship with Zhou Xun when they were filming "The Great Magician" and "The Silent War", many are speculating that the post is Carina's way of expressing that she is not a jealous wife.

Meanwhile, Tony Leung's management company Jet Tone refused to make any comment regarding Tony and Zhou Xun's alleged past romance.

Hong Kong actress Carina Lau recently refuted rumours saying that she has been controlling husband Tony Leung's whereabouts since reports of his relationship with Chinese actress Zhou Xun came out.

As reported on Qoos website, the Hong Kong tabloids recently reported that the actress has been tightening her grip on Tony ever since he was rumoured to be dating his "The Great Magician" co-star.

It was rumoured that not only did Tony and Zhou Xun stopped all communication between them after the news broke, Carina also demanded for Tony to report his every move, the people he meets with when she's not around, as for his phone being subjected to checks from time to time.

A source claimed that "The Grandmaster" star has been so stressed out by the situation that he has been seen looking more haggard than usual, and was even photographed drinking alcohol with friends; supposedly a sign of anxiety.

The source alleged, "Tony and Carina are not talking to each other at the moment, but since the two of them have been together for many years, the situation shall improve one day."

However, when asked to address the rumours of their supposed 'cold war', Carina waved it off, saying, "Would anyone believe me to be such a person?"

Hong Kong actress Carina Lau, who is known for her entrepreneurial skills, recently launched her three new restaurants simultaneously.

China Broadcast website reported that on 12 September, the "Bends" actress appeared at the ribbon-cutting ceremony dressed elegantly, with her man Tony Leung Chiu-Wai by her side, which disproved recent rumours of their alleged conflict.

The 47-year-old actress, who once expressed her desire to build her own restaurant empire, has recently invested a seven figure sum towards opening a Japanese eatery, a Spanish restaurant, and a new bar.

During a wine-tasting session at the event, the actress revealed, "It took me a year and a lot of money to finally make it happen, but it doesn't mean that I am planning to retire from the movie industry. Today is the day I can finally launch the restaurants. I am waiting until everything is prepared before I invite 'his lordship' (Tony Leung) to a tasting."

When asked if he was involved in the investment, Tony light-heartedly answered, "No, of course not. I know nothing about business. I am pretty dumb and only know how to act. I can only make money to save or buy properties, but I don't know how and have no interest to invest [this way]."

In regards to her next business venture, Carina expressed her desire to make more money in movies, saying, "I'm already married to a Best Actor, and have friends in the industry, so producing would be a piece of cake."

The second season of Maria Leitao's "Telling Maria" has been getting a lot of attention for the controversial guests they have brought in, but nothing else has been more anticipated than Carina Lau's interview.

As reported on AM730 website, in one of the clips of the upcoming interview that was previewed at the promotional event of the "Young Detective Dee", the actress was shown talking about her kidnapping in 1990.

She was quoted saying, "If I ever get the chance, I want to come across the four people. I know they were under other people's orders."

Speaking at a gynaecological cancer-related event recently, the actress was asked regarding the interview and expressed, "The truth is, I have already forgiven them long ago. Now I can be honest about it. I have no taboo and there's nothing that I can't talk about. I'm very open-minded."

She also disclosed that the interview with Maria Leitao was a fun experience and that no secrets were kept from the host.

In 1990, the actress was reported to have been abducted for several hours during the filming of "Days Of Being Wild", and topless photos of her were taken. However, no police reports were made and many believed that the man behind the kidnapping was a very famous producer with whom Lau was having a financial dispute.

Her husband Tony Leung Chiu-Wai stated that Carina never talked about what happened during those hours with anyone, including him.

Carina Lau: I am priceless!

Hong Kong actress Carina Lau recently admitted that she is inspired by Chow Yun-fat's alleged willingness to donate 99 percent of his wealth to society after his death.

According to Yes Entertainment website, the "Bends" actress, who made an appearance at the launch of a Valentino flagship store in Shanghai on 14 November, stated that she is considering doing that as well.

However, she is not equally as willing to donate her entire life savings. The 47-year-old actress stated, "Although I will not be able to take my wealth with me after I die, I have to make proper arrangements first so that my family is taken care of. Only then will I donate what's left. Ultimately, my wealth comes from society."

When asked how much will she donate Carina expressed, "Will I donate 800 million or 1 billion? I, Carina Lau, am priceless! How can I just donate that much? My husband [Tony Leung] is very generous. I can discuss this with him later."

Meanwhile, Carina also talked about their charitable organisation, the TLC Foundation, saying, "The foundation mainly helps seniors and children in need and Valentino will donate some of its proceeds from its new line to the cause. Other than that, Tony would donate gifts from friends to charity, and make private visits. But if needed, we might organise a large scale fund raising event like Smile Angels Foundation did."

Despite the many predictions that Tony Leung (Chiu Wai) will win Best Actor at the 50th Golden Horse Awards, the actor eventually lost the accolade to "Stray Dogs" actor, Lee Kang-sheng instead.

However, according to HK Top Ten website, Carina, who had been vocal in supporting her husband, recently revealed that the actor is unfazed about losing to the Taiwanese actor, saying, "Lee has never won in 22 years, let him have one. Each and every award show has its own stance. The results are fair."

When asked if she has comforted the actor, the "Bends" actress stated, "I don't need to. His award-winning rate is 99.9 percent. It's no problem losing to 0.1 percent. People will never say that Tony Leung doesn't know how to act. They would instead ask why he didn't win, which is a different kind of victory altogether."

Meanwhile, Carina recently set tongues wagging when she uploaded a photo with actress and rumoured love rival, Maggie Cheung taken at the airport.

When mentioned about the photo, Carina laughed and said, "People have been looking forward to it for quite a while, haven't they? I just pleased everyone!"

However, when probed about what the two of them talked about at the airport, Carina replied, "I can't tell you. We're not like what others are saying. Don't imagine too much!"

Despite her Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards, Hong Kong actress Carina Lau said she will not put a lot of hopes into winning it.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actress, who was surprised and delighted with her nomination for her role as Empress Wu Zetian in "Young Detective Dee", agreed to a telephone interview with the media recently.

The actress thanked Tsui Hark and producer Shi Nansun for the opportunity to reprise her role in the 2013 movie and enthused, "Of course I am very happy to hear such good news in the New Year. The character [Wu Zetian] is very suitable for me, and I am happy to receive another nomination."

However, when asked if she is confident about winning the award, Carina replied, "I'm taking it very lightly."

Carina will be competing for the award with the likes of child actress Crystal Lee ("Unbeatable"), Kara Wai ("Rigor Mortis"), Du Juan ("American Dreams in China"), as well as Helena Law ("The White Storm").

Meanwhile, the actress revealed that she will be spending Valentine's Day in Berlin with husband, Tony Leung who is serving as a judge for the Berlin International Film Festival.

Carina Lau is motivated by her Outstanding Asian Actress award

Winning the Outstanding Asian Actress award at the Asian Film Award Special Awards Ceremony recently gave Carina Lau the motivation to become a better artiste.

Mingpao reported that the actress, who was at the event with fellow recipient, Donnie Yen, expressed her happiness with the recognition awarded to her, and said, "It gives me the motivation to perform even better in future!"

However, the actress denied that she will be filming a lot of movies because of it, saying, "Though success requires giving, giving too much does not equal to success."

Meanwhile, the actress was also revealed to be one of the jury members for the Asian Film Awards.

When asked if she would favour her husband, Tony Leung, who is nominated for Best Actor for his role in "The Grandmaster", Carina said, "I will be fair and objective. Even when I watch his films with him in private, I would be as neutral as possible."

She added that the actor is already known for his quality performance and that he doesn't need an award to prove it.

In regards to Tony's competition, Lee Kang-sheng, who defeated him for Best Actor at the Golden Horse Awards recently for his role in "Stray Dogs", Carina said, "Lee performs really well in the movie. It was not an easy role to play."

2011 Hong Kong Film Awards' Best Actress Carina Lau has no expectations about this year's nominations, the Oriental Daily reported.

The actress, who recently won a similar title at the Osaka Asian Film Festival for her role in "Bends", will be competing for the 33rd HKFA's Best Supporting Actress accolade against Du Juan ("American Dreams in China"), Helena Law ("The White Storm"), Crystal Lee ("Unbeatable"), and Kara Hui ("Rigor Mortis") for her performance in "Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon".

Though she has won Best Actress through the "Detective Dee" franchise three years ago, Carina said that she will not lose her confidence if she doesn't win this year.

"I know my position, and I will work hard on my performance no matter if I win or not," said the actress.

Meanwhile, veteran actress Helena Law, who is nominated for the same award, stated that she never thought that she was still able to work at her age.

"The White Storm" actress, who is turning 80 this year, stated, "As long as my memory is clear and I still have the energy, I hope to continue to perform into my 90s!"

Carina Lau asks the media not to harass Liddy Li

Saddened and surprised by the tragedy that has befallen actress Liddy Li, Carina Lau expressed her hopes that the media would leave the poor girl alone.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress stated, "Real life tragedy really is bloodier than in movies. Such a thing can't even be written on script without people thinking it's too exaggerated."

The compassionate actress also called for the media to leave Liddy alone, saying, "This is a family tragedy. You [reporters] should treat her better."

"Everything has its different angles. One should not just look at one version of the whole story," the actress added.

The actress was referring to the recent revelation that the gunman in Kowloon who had shot his neighbour and then himself, was revealed to be Liddy Li's father.

Meanwhile, Carina, who was photographed having a meal with the British Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson recently, was all smiles when complimented that she looked much slimmer.

"I wanted to shed ten pounds off my weight, so I was introduced to a training instructor," she said.

However, Carina admitted that it was difficult at first, saying, "He stocked healthy foods in my refrigerator and I hated them. I also exercise a lot. At the time, I really wanted to beat him up for making me pay him to do uncomfortable things. But it's really effective!"

Carina Lau worries about her upcoming stage play

Wednesday July 2, 2014 Hong Kong

2iiv5h4.jpg

The usually calm and collected Carina Lau recently confessed that she has been a nervous wreck since being involved in the upcoming high-profile stage production, "Tonnochy".

According to Hong Kong's On CC News, the actress revealed that she has been stressing out about the show, the theatre settings, as well as the rehearsals, to a point that she now suffers from insomnia.

"I went for a health check-up recently when I realised how stressful I was. Sometimes I would get agitated, or I would feel nauseous and get sick," said Carina.

The actress added that most of her time has been spent thinking and rehearsing her lines. She had also quit alcohol for the time being so that she can concentrate more on her performance.

"A stage production is very different from film," said Carina. "You have to be immersed in the role and be on standby every minute and every second."

She was also full of praises for her co-star and respected theatre actor, Gardner Tse, saying, "He can get into character almost immediately, unlike me and [co-star] Tony Leung [Kar Fai]."

Set in a club, "Tonnochy" tells the story of three people - a stock market player (Gardner Tse), introverted banker (Tony Leung Kar Fai), and his widow (Carina Lau), who comes looking for answers following the mysterious death of her husband.

Carina Lau is indifferent to Chow Yun Fat's charm

Chow Yun Fat may have mesmerised his co-star Nick Cheung with his star persona but even his kiss has no effect on award-winning actress Carina Lau.

As reported on Mingpao News, the Hong Kong actress, who recently had an intimate kiss scene with the international superstar for new movie "From Vegas to Macau 2", said that kissing Chow Yun Fat is just child's play.

Speaking to the media at a ForeverMark Diamond event recently, she even joked, "I have already asked [director] Andrew Lau to add more scenes like that."

"It was not awkward at all, even if Chow's wife was on the set. But if it's with the people I know well, then it's different," said Carina.

She admitted it was easier for her to act in such a scene with Chow rather than with her own husband, Tony Leung.

Carina also added that her friends have been visiting her at the set, though she suspected that they were only there to ogle at Chow.

In regard to her stage play, "Tonnochy", Carina expressed, "It has been really rough and challenging because the character I play is difficult and has a lot of lines. But I've had a lot of fun doing it."
